This is the result of my work on the GDQuest module "Telling a story", which takes you through:

  • Creating a user interface (buttons, text boxes)
  • How to apply shaders (producing the moving background)
  • How to store and retrieve information from Godot arrays and dictionaries to code a dialogue system that allows for switching characters, expressions, dialogue text and "talking" audio
  • How to boundary check your arrays so as not to break the game when you reach the end (or beginning) of the dialogue tree
  • Using BBCode on the text to spice it up
  • How to animate some movement to the characters for a bit of polish

I'm just uploading this as a test and to show it to any friends who may want to take a look.
